Retreat: Sat. & Sun. October 15-16 at Ijamsville, MD (near Frederick)
"Simply cease imagining that you are a limited, located entity. See clearly that you are always only this Consciousness. Stand as that." - Rupert Spira
At the core of all great spiritual traditions is the essential discovery that experienceis not divided into a perceiving subject, an entity known as “I,” and a perceived object, world, or other. This understanding, sometimes referred to as nonduality, cannot be expressed directly but teachers, sages, mystics, and poets use the
language of their culture to point toward it.
language of their culture to point toward it.
Rupert Spira’s great gift is the gentleness and precision of his pointing while escorting us on a leisurely walk through the maze of our sense perceptions, bodily sensations, and thoughts. This weekend’s exploration is designed to demonstrate the fallacy of our inherited beliefs about reality and replace them with the facts of our experience, our true nature. In our meetings we simply take our stand knowingly as Presence and explore the beliefs and feelings that suggest that we are anything less than this absolute freedom and love. Thirteen years ago, Rupert Spira met his teacher, Francis Lucille, who directly indicated to him the true nature of experience and introduced him to the teachings of Jean Klein, Parmenides, Wei Wu Wei, and Atmananda Krishna Menon.
Author of The Transparency of Things, Spira leads meetings and retreats worldwide.
